While each author hails from a different background, what they present on their respective topics is equally unique, and their research and writing methods result in works that are worthy of the respect of historians and students of our nation's founding conflict.īoth works are primarily focused on military history, which is certainly Rick Atkinson's forte. These two books have already entered that field and were compiled by authors who are not traditional (read "academic") historians. Sestercentennial, Bicenquinquagenary, Quarter-Millennial, or whatever you wish to call the approaching 250th anniversary of the American Revolution, we can expect to see more works published about a conflict that has often been described as having nothing new left to uncover. ![]()
